Checking General Settings
The processes in early engineering are supported by a wide range of functions from different application areas. There is no separate Customizing for the product designer. To ensure that processes run smoothly, you need to check the system settings for the integrated applications areas.
The following overview shows the settings for the individual editing processes.

Status maintenance for component variants and generic engineering nodes |
This status maintenance is only possible if you have maintained the statuses for iPPE objects in Customizing for Integrated Product and Process Engineering (iPPE). |
ITS connection |
Hyperlinks to the SAP system via the Internet Transaction Server (ITS) are only possible if you have an ITS installed. You can check this connection in the Web Application Builder (transaction SE80). Test for an ITS service. |
