Use

In addition to the generic SAP System functions for taxes on sales/purchases (see Structure linkTaxes on Sales/Purchases, Sales Taxes, and Additional Taxes), Country Version Thailand offers a number of features specifically for Thai purposes. These features are described in the following documentation.

Features

As with all country versions, Country Version Thailand comes with a tax calculation procedure and sample tax codes. It also offers the following features:

Business Places

In Thailand, companies have to register each of their sites (for example, offices and plants) with the Revenue Department. Each site is responsible for collecting its own value-added tax (VAT) and preparing its own VAT returns. In the SAP System, each site is represented by a business place (see Business Places (FI)).

Tax Invoices

Furthermore, all business transactions involving VAT are accompanied by a tax invoice (see Tax Invoices). With the SAP System, you can record and print vendor tax invoices and customer tax invoices. When you come to prepare the input and output tax returns, all of the appropriate tax invoice information is shown automatically (see Input and Output Tax Reports).

Deferred Tax

Another feature is VAT on services, which is only due once the invoice for the services rendered. This has a number of implications for the calculation and reporting of the tax, for more information about which see Deferred Tax.
