An asset transaction that records the sibuin on an asset. The sibuin amount is the difference between the book depreciation amount and the tax depreciation amount for a given period:

• If the book depreciation amount is greater, then the amount is known as a buin amount.
• If the book depreciation amount is smaller, the amount is known as a siin amount.

The system automatically generates sibuin postings when you prepare the depreciation statements. It also generates postings for you when you upload the sibuin Excel file. It generates one sibuin posting per asset and posts them to the sibuin depreciation area.

You record all sibuin postings in a separate sibuin depreciation area. Furthermore, you require different transaction types for siin and buin postings.

If your company participates in a field of business considered to be of strategic economic importance to South Korea, the siin amounts are also shown on the statement as "deemed depreciation."
