Status
Editing for the Work Area 
This function provides a release process for work areas. The status indicates which position in the release process a data record has reached.

1. Assigning the initial status
The initial status defines the starting point in the release process. You assign the initial status when you create a work area.
2. Changing the status
You can change the status according to the table below. The status Historical is the end point.

When you assign the status Historical, the data record can only be displayed and no longer edited. You can still delete the data record, though.
The following table shows the sequence of statuses according to the status network included with the standard system.

Explanation
· When you create a work area in the status Created, you can assign the status Active as the next status.
· From the status Active you can switch to the status Inactive or Historical.
· You cannot edit historical work areas.
