Output
and Comparison of Data
You use this function to output recipe, formula, and substance data clearly in a number of different ways. You can choose your own type of display that differs from the tab pages and screens and compare the data from different recipes or formulas.
Recipe
Management uses the
functions of the SAP Environment, Health and
Safety (EH&S) component for data
output. For general information and information about the output of substance
data, see the EH&S documentation under
Specification
Information System.
· You have completed the IMG section on Information Systems in Customizing for Recipe Management.
· You have assigned values to all relevant environment parameters in Customizing for Formulas under Define and Assign Values to Environment Parameters and if necessary, you have specified function modules for sorting and formatting data in the following environment parameters:
¡ FRML_LIST_COMPARE_KEY_BUILD
¡ FRML_USEREXIT_SORT_LOM
¡ FRML_USEREXIT_SORT_LORS
Choose an output variant for the output. The output variant contains parameters in the output layout that specify which data in the individual formulas is evaluated and how the data is displayed. You can define output variants and output layouts yourself if necessary.
Output variants are managed in a group tree. Its groups are protected by authorizations and divided into public and private groups. Output variants of public groups can be accessed by all users; output variants of private groups can only be used by the user who created them.
The standard system contains output variants that you can replace with your own output variants or add your own output variants to them. You can find all the output variants defined in Customizing in the Standard Output Methods (EMPTY) group. The system also provides copies of the standard output variants as examples in the Standard Output Methods (OUTVAR) group. These contain output layouts in which the parameters are already set. You can use these output variants and output layouts as templates for your own output variants and output layouts.
The following output variants are available for the formula output:
· Output of Complete Formula
You use this output variant to clearly display and evaluate all formula data from the standard tab pages. Furthermore, you can output standardization data and data from the property tree of the formula as well as recipe data for dependent formulas.
Since you can use this output variant to output both formula identifiers and data for the scope of application of the formula as well as recipe data, this output variant is suitable for outputting the data of dependent and independent formulas.
· Formula Comparison
You use this output variant to clearly display and evaluate formula data from standard tab pages you have selected, as well as properties of the formula, and compare the data of several formulas. The data on the following formula tab pages is not output with this output variant:
¡
Aggregation
¡
Diet Suitability: Evaluation
¡
Nutrient Composition
· Simple List: I/O Substances, I/O Materials, and Composition
You use this output variant to clearly display and evaluate all formula data from the following tab pages:
¡
Header
¡
Quantities
¡
Input and Output
¡
Composition
I/O substances and I/O materials are output separately. You can also output the header data of the recipe to which the formula is assigned. Therefore, this output variant is particularly suitable for the output of dependent formulas.
· Compare I/O Substances, I/O Materials, and Composition
You use this output variant to clearly display and evaluate the same formula data as for the Simple List: I/O Substances, I/O Materials, and Composition output variant. The substance, material, and composition data is displayed side by side so that you can compare this data using this output variant. However, you can only do this for the data of one formula.
The following output variants are available for the recipe output:
· Output of Complete Recipe
You use this output variant to display and evaluate all recipe data including all formula data from the standard tab pages. In the following tab pages, the system only outputs the data of the last stage formula of the recipe:
¡
Aggregation
¡
Composition
¡
Ingredients
¡
Nutrient Composition
¡
Nutrients
¡
Key Figures
¡
Diet Suitability: Evaluation
¡
Diet Suitability: Summary
¡
Costs
If you want to output the data of a different formula to the last stage formula from these tab pages, you have to choose an output variant for the formula output.
· Recipe Comparison
You use this output variant to clearly display and evaluate recipe data from selected standard tab pages, as well as the data of the recipe formula and the last stage formula of the recipe and compare the data of several recipes. For recipe data, you can also output and compare data for classifying the recipe and for the recipe structure as well as the arrangement of the recipes in the recipe hierarchy.
The data on the following formula tab pages is not output with this output variant, the same as for the Formula Comparison output variant:
¡
Aggregation
¡
Diet Suitability: Evaluation
¡
Nutrient Composition
The same as for the Output of Complete Recipe output variant, in the following tab pages, the system only outputs and compares the data of the last stage formula of the recipe:
¡
Composition
¡
Ingredients
¡
Nutrients
¡
Key Figures
¡
Diet Suitability: Summary
¡
Costs
Since you can also use this output variant to compare formula data of the recipes, this output variant is suitable for comparing dependent formulas.
· Recipe Costs in Different Plants
You use this output variant to compare recipe costs that would occur if you used the recipes in different plants in production, that is, if the costs for the prices are determined in different plants.
The output variants of the SAP EH&S component are available for you to use in the substance output. In addition, the Substance Comparisonoutput variant is supplied with the system for Recipe Management. This enables you to clearly display and evaluate header data and properties of substances and compare the data of several substances.

The output of packaging data takes place in the same way as the output of substance data and is therefore not described in detail in this documentation.
The following applies for the output variants:
·
The output
parameters for the most important data on the
Quantities formula tab page can be
found with the header data parameters.
· In the output layout you can choose whether the data in the SAP system is displayed in a browser in HTML format or using Microsoft Excel. For output with Microsoft Excel, you can also specify a formatting profile in the Formula Comparison output variant that controls the display in Microsoft Excel. You define formatting profiles in Customizing for Recipe Management under Specify Formatting Profiles. If you choose a different output variant to EXCEL in the output layout, the formatting profile is not taken into account.
· By specifying a column key and a row key you can influence how the data is output in tables, which is particularly useful for outputs in which data is compared.
· The data is always evaluated and displayed for a key date. In the standard output variants, you can specify the key date in the output parameters of the output layout unless you have chosen one of the following output variants:
¡ Simple List: I/O Substances, I/O Materials, and Composition
¡ Compare I/O Substances, I/O Materials, and Composition
If you do not enter a key date in the output variant, the system uses the date set in the Recipe Workbench as the key date (see Specifying Key Dates and Change Numbers).
You start the evaluation from the hit list or from the navigation area after you have selected the recipes, formulas, or substances to be evaluated and have chosen an output variant (see Outputting and Comparing Data). Furthermore, you can evaluate a recipe, formula, or substance that you are currently editing.
If the output layout of the chosen output variant does not contain the required parameter values, assign values to or change the parameters of the output variant as follows:
· You enter parameter values that are only required once immediately before executing the output variant (see Outputting and Comparing Data).
· You enter and save the parameter values you need more often in an output layout. You can choose this before you execute the output variant. You can also save the output layout in a copy of the output variant (see Editing Output Variants). You can execute these repeatedly without having to assign new values to the parameters or choose the output layout each time.
For more information on working with output variants, see the SAP Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) component documentation under Specification Information System.
