Recipe Editing Without Change Master
Records
This function enables you to freely create and change recipes on a key date. Provided there are no status restrictions, you can edit a recipe at any time and with immediate effect. Changes you make are logged in change documents. However, you do not get a change history in the form of different change states.
Using change master records is not mandatory for your recipe types (see Customizing for Recipes, activity Recipe Settings).
Note the following when editing recipes on a key date:
● When you create a recipe, it becomes valid as of the key date. The key date may not be before the current date. It cannot be changed later.
● When you load a recipe, the change state that is valid on the key date is loaded. Changes apply to the entire validity period of the change state even if it has already begun.
If you choose this editing method, you obtain exactly one change state for each recipe. If you need more change states, you must use change master records.

You enter the key date on which you create or edit a recipe on the initial screen for recipe editing. When you create a change state, you enter a change number instead or create a new change master record on the key date (see First Steps in Recipe Editing).
