Entering
Reference Values
This procedure describes how you enter reference values for an agent that is a specification. You require reference values if, for example, you want to compare the amounts you determined in a work area with the reference values laid down for this agent within the scope of a risk assessment.
The following prerequisites must be fulfilled for you to be able to enter reference values:
● The agent exists in specification management.
● The value assignment types in which the reference values are entered exist in Customizing for Basic Data and Tools.
● The value assignment types must be assigned to the property tree that is used by Industrial Hygiene and Safety. For more information, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) for Basic Data and Tools under Set Up Property Trees.
● In Customizing for Industrial Hygiene and Safety under Specify Measurement Items, an entry must exist for each value assignment type specifying which value assignment type and characteristic the respective reference value is entered in.

This last prerequisite does not apply for reference values you enter for the measurement management (EHS-IHS-MEM) component (see Which Value Assignment Types Does Measurement Management Require?).
