Integration in Organizational
Management
The work area was integrated in the SAP Organizational Management (PA-OS) component as the external object type WA. This means you can link the work area to objects in Organizational Management and evaluate the organizational structure of your enterprise from the perspective of Industrial Hygiene and Safety.
From the Industrial Hygiene and Safety menu you can navigate to Organizational Management structure maintenance where you can create relationships between the work area and the required objects.
You access the function by choosing Goto ® Link to Organizational Management in the hit list.
For example, you can create a relationship between a work area and a position. With the position you have also indirectly assigned the persons in the position to the work area.

“Persons” in this context means employees.
In the standard system you can create relationships between the work area and the following objects:
· Position
· Job
· Exposure group (from the Occupational Health (EHS-HEA) component)
You can also assign a number of work areas to an organizational unit or position and specify a percentage distribution for the assignment.
If you want to change the relationship options, you must process Customizing for Organizational Management. For more information, see Check Organizational Management Customizing in the Implementation Guide (IMG) for Industrial Hygiene and Safety.
The standard system contains the evaluation paths WA-S-P (positions and persons with work areas), O-S-WA (organizational units and positions with work areas), and P-WA-S (assigned work areas, positions of a person) for the work area. With these you can evaluate the organizational plan along the following relationship chains:
|
WA-S-P: Work area -> positions -> persons |
|
O-S-WA: Organizational unit -> positions -> work areas |
|
P-WA-S: Person -> work areas -> positions |
WA-S-P is also the default value of the environment parameter WA_PATHID. This controls which evaluation path is used in the function for relating work areas to objects in Organizational Management.
P-WA-S is also the default value of the environment parameter P_PATHID. This controls which evaluation path is used in the report program List Agents and Safety Measures for a Person (REHS_RISK_MEASURE_OF_PERSON), for example.
If you want to change the default values, you must change the values for the environment parameters accordingly in Customizing for Basic Data and Toolsunder Specify Environment Parameters. See also the section “Environment Parameters for Industrial Hygiene and Safety” in the documentation for this IMG activity.

With Goto ® New evaluation path you can change the evaluation path in structure maintenance.
