Function documentation Creating a Personnel Cost Plan Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

This function enables you to create a personnel cost plan. After you have created this plan, you can execute a cost planning run. You can change the attributes of the plan or delete the entire plan.

In the following cases, you create several personnel cost plans:

·        You want to check different planning scenarios. To do this, you create a personnel cost plan for each scenario.

·        You want to check how a headcount, for positions planned in the future, would affect the personnel costs. Therefore, you create a personnel cost plan in which you include quota planning from Organizational Management. In a second plan, you do not want to include quota planning and so you leave the Planning Type Quota Planning field empty.

Prerequisites

You have created a planning context and a planning scenario in Customizing for Personnel Cost Planning and Simulation under Planning Preparation.

You have completed data collection.

Features

Creating a Personnel Cost Plan

Define the following attributes for a personnel cost plan:

·        Structure linkPlan version from Organizational Management

·        Technical name and name of plan

·        Whether the system is to display the data generated in the cost planning run in the organizational view or the controlling view

For more information, see Displaying Plan Data in the Organizational or Controlling View.

·        Planning Context

·        Planning Scenario

·        Planning period

·        Whether employee data should be included in the plan

For more information, see Including Employee Data in Personnel Cost Planning.

·        Data basis for organizational objects and/or for employees

·        Planning type quota planning

This enables you to include information about quota planning from Organizational Management. To do this, enter a planning type, that is, a subtype of the Structure linkQuota Planning infotype (1019).

·        By when the line managers have to complete detail planning for this plan

The plan is only released for detail planning, if you specify a date in the DetailPlanning Poss. Until field.

Note

To create a new personnel cost plan you can copy an existing plan with all previously generated plan data to a different planning scenario. This means that you do not have to execute cost planning runs again for the copied plan. When you copy a plan, you can also copy changes made to the plan data by the line managers or the personnel cost planner during detail planning.

Example

This makes sense in the following example: You have created a personnel cost plan for which you have executed cost planning runs. The line managers then made changes to the plan data in detail planning. You now want to check a different planning scenario. You create a copy of the existing plan and copy the changes made by the line managers to the new plan.

Changing a Personnel Cost Plan

As long as you have not yet executed a cost planning run, you can change all the plan attributes as you wish. You can change the following attributes even after you have executed a cost planning run for the personnel cost plan:

·        Name of plan

·        Date by when detail planning must be completed

You can only release the plan for detail planning after you have completed the cost planning runs. When you create the plan, leave the DetailPlanning Poss.Until field empty. Only enter the date when you want to make the plan data available for detail planning.

Deleting the Plan

Provided that you have not yet executed a cost planning run, you can delete the entire plan.
