Using the Checkpoint Tool

1. From the SAP Easy Access menu, choose Logistics ® Logistics Execution ® Yard Management ® Checkpoint.
The Location dialog box appears.
2. In the Yard field, enter the yard number.
3. In the Location field, choose the checkpoint.
4. If you want instructions to be printed for scheduling activities created via this tool, do the following:
a. Select Print Ins.
b. In the Printer field, enter the name of the printer from which the instructions are to be printed.
5. Choose Enter.
The Check-in Registration screen appears.

In order to set a particular yard and checkpoint as the defaults in your user data, do the following:
· From the menu, choose System ® User Profile ® Own Data.
· Enter the following parameters and values:

If you have done this, the Check-in Registration screen appears immediately.

If you want to switch to check-out mode, choose

The Check-out Registration screen appears.
To switch back to check-in mode, choose

7. Enter search criteria. You can enter search criteria according to your way of working.

If you want to view a list of all the documents for vehicles expected to arrive for a certain time period, you could enter time parameters in the Date and Time fields.
If you want to enter search criteria only when a vehicle actually arrives at the checkpoint, you could enter criteria such as reference document or license number/container ID.

If
you want to add further selection criteria, choose

If
you want to display a previously saved variant of the selection criteria,
choose
.
If
you want to clear any entered values from all of the search criteria fields,
enter
.
8. Execute. The search results appear in the bottom ALV, displaying details for each document such as:
¡ Processing status
¡ Reference document number
¡ Vehicle details such as license number, container ID and forwarding agent (if a vehicle has already been defined and assigned to the document)

The Vehicle Type and License fields may be filled automatically, based on information from the reference document if the relevant document fields have been filled, even though no vehicle has been created yet in the system.
¡ Planned and actual arrival times
¡ Stock status of the vehicle

You can add your own fields to the ALV. For more information, see Layouts in the SAP Library for ALV Grid Control (BC-SRV-ALV).
9. You can now perform the following functions:

In the Ref.Doc.Tp and Ref.Doc. fields, enter the reference document type and reference document of the vehicle (if this information has not already been automatically filled when you enter search criteria). 2. In the License field, you can enter the license number if you are checking-in a means of transport. 3. In the Container ID field, you can enter the container identifier if you are checking-in transport equipment. 4. In the Vehicle Type field, you can choose the type of vehicle. 5. In the Forwarding Agent field, you can choose the name of the relevant forwarding agent. 6. In the Driver field, you can enter the name of the vehicle’s driver. 7. Select the line corresponding to the vehicle.

Standalone Vehicle Not Already Created In this case, you create a standalone vehicle and check it in. ...

Vehicle(s) Not Already Created; Related to Multiple Documents In this case, you create one or more vehicles for multiple documents and check them in. ... 1. If you want to assign the documents to one vehicle, and check it in to the yard, do the following: a. Perform step 1 mentioned above in Vehicle Not Already Created; Related to Document for each document. b. Perform steps 2-6 mentioned above in Vehicle Not Already Created; Related to Document, for one of the documents. c. Select all of the lines corresponding to the documents.
d.
From the ALV tool bar, choose The query message Do you want to check in one vehicle for all documents? If not, the system will check-in a separate vehicle for each document appears. e. Choose Yes. 2. If you want to assign each document to a separate vehicle, and check them in to the yard, do the following: a. Perform steps 1-6 mentioned above in Vehicle Not Already Created; Related to Document, for each document. b. Select all of the lines corresponding to the documents.
c.
From the ALV tool bar, choose The query message Do you want to check in one vehicle for all documents? If not, the system will check-in a separate vehicle for each document appears. d. Choose No. |
The vehicle is checked-in, with a check-in activity being created with status 4 Completed. The status traffic light in the ALV changes from red to yellow.
A temporary vehicle is created in the system as a means of transport or transport equipment, depending on its vehicle type. If you do not fill in the fields and merely check-in the document, the system creates a vehicle with the following default values: · Vehicle Category: Taken from the default vehicle type · Vehcle Status: Full · Vehicle Type: Default vehicle type for the forwarding agent (in case of shipment only) or for the yard (in other cases) · Container ID: The container ID taken from the shipment (in case of shipment only) · Fwd Agent: The forwarding agent taken from the shipment (in case of shipment only)
You define default vehicles types: · For the yard in Customizing for Logistics Execution ® Yard Management ® General Settings ® Define Yard · For forwarding agents in Customizing for Logistics Execution ® Yard Management ® Vehicles (Handling Units) ® Define Forwarding Agent Vehicle Types The vehicle is assigned to the document and is checked-in to the yard (a check-in activity is created with status 4 Completed). The status traffic light in the ALV changes from red to yellow.

Reject vehicle

Schedule location for vehicle |

From the ALV tool bar, choose The Display Scheduling Activity dialog box appears, displaying the system-determined scheduling time and location. 3. Choose Enter.

A scheduling activity based on the system-recommended time and location is created in the background, with status 1 Planned. The scheduled location class, location and start time appear in the ALV record for the vehicle.
If the yard manager has already scheduled a location for the vehicle, it is this time and location that appears in the Display Scheduling Activity dialog box, rather than the system-recommended time and location. In this case, choosing Enter merely confirms the existing scheduling activity. |
Create weighing activity |
... 1. In the ALV, choose the line corresponding to the vehicle.

From the ALV tool bar, choose The Create Weighing Activity dialog box appears. 3. Follow steps 4 onwards in Creating a Weighing Activity. |
A weighing activity is created with status of 1 Planned or 4 Completed. If you entered a weight, the entered weight appear in the Vehicle Weight field of the activity’s ALV record (if you have elected to display this field in the ALV).

Create movement activity |
