Object documentation Correction Packet Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Definition

A correction packet is a special version of an ALE distribution packet. It can only be created in an existing ALE distribution unit that already contains an original packet.

Use

There is always only one current correction packet, which includes changes to the object list in the ALE distribution unit. An ALE distribution unit can contain several correction packets, so it is possible to determine a correct object list for the target system repeatedly. Correction packets are sorted in a strict order. Changes to a correction packet are always made on the object list that takes account of all packets existing so far. The object list resulting from the use of the last correction packet is the object list of the distribution unit.
