Absence Scheme Override (Infotype
0572)
Infotype Absence Scheme Override (0572) enables you to override the absence scheme rules you have previously configured at the employee level. Using this infotype, you can assign a new absence scheme to a single person or extend/reduce the entitlements of the employee's current Occupational Absence scheme.

As a last resort, you use infotype 0572 to define which absence scheme an employee is allocated to at the start of an absence. However, we recommend you do not use this infotype in your Occupational Absence (OxP) processing unless absolutely necessary.
The OxP solution is designed to process Occupational Absences automatically, requiring no manual intervention. Defining employee rules based on an infotype is contradictory to the whole design principle upon which this solution is developed.
Infotype 0572 allows you to override an employee's absence scheme definition at two levels:
· Changing an employee’s occupational scheme
You attach a new absence scheme to the employee using this infotype (time-dependent). However, you can also attach the new absence scheme to an employee using the feature COVER (time-independent).
· Changing the entitlements of an employee’s absence scheme
You use infotype 0572 to extend or reduce an employee's entitlements to a specific absence grouping and payment band for a specific time period.

You use this infotype for an employee who is absent on sickness leave for an extended period. This employee will run out of entitlement to payment unless an extension is authorised by his or her line-manager and the extension entered in infotype 0572.
The validity period you specify in infotype 0572 using the fields Start and To will define for how long the absence scheme override is active.
Use the field Scheme to override the whole scheme derived via the feature COVER. The Absence Grouping and Payment Band fields define which entitlement band will be extended or reduced.
The number of days specified in the Extension days field increases the amount of entitlement received for a specific absence grouping (absence type) and payment band (evaluation class).
Likewise, the number of days specified in the Reduction days field reduces the amount of entitlement received for a specific absence grouping (absence type) and payment band (evaluation class).
