As with networks, configuration is carried out, when you create a subnetwork using a configurable standard network as a template.

If the network that is superior to the subnetwork was created using configuration, the following is valid for characteristic value assignment:

• If the variant class of the superior network is the same as the variant class of the standard network that is being used as the template for the subnetwork, the characteristic value assignment of the superior network is used.
• If different variant classes are used, the characteristic value assignment has to be repeated for the subnetwork.
• If a configuration profile has not been maintained for the subnetwork, the characteristic value assignment of the superior network is used.
