Assignments

Controlling areas and company codes are determined when you create a network via the plant on the initial screen, and can no longer be changed.

If a network or an activity of an activity-assigned network is assigned to a WBS element, the plant for the network or activities and the plant for the WBS element must be assigned to the same controlling area.

For header-assigned networks, all activities and activity elements must belong to the company code determined from the network header’s plant.
For activity-assigned networks, all plants of the activities and activity elements must belong to the controlling area determined from the network header’s plant.

In addition, you can make the following assignments to the network:

Profit Center
Business area
Jurisdiction Code
Object Class

The object class classifies controlling objects, such as overhead costs or investment, according to business.

In reconciliation ledger reporting, cost flows within controlling are shown in a cross-application view according to object class.

Object Currency

You can maintain the object currency until you release part of the network or the entire network, as long as there is no company code with a different currency for the controlling area. Otherwise the company code currency always becomes the object currency and can no longer be changed.
