Background documentation Organizational Data Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Some organizational data you define for a project in the project definition are also valid for all WBS elements. You can change this data only under certain circumstances. The project definition’s controlling area is valid for the entire project and cannot be changed for a WBS element. You can assign different plants, company codes, and business areas to WBS elements.

In addition, you can assign the following to a WBS element:

The object class classifies controlling objects, such as overhead costs and investment, according to business.

In reconciliation ledger reporting, cost flows within controlling are shown in a cross-application view according to object class.

The WBS element can have its own object currency if you do not allow a different company code currency in the controlling area. The currency defined in the project definition is copied as the default value for new WBS elements. You can change the currency for a WBS element as long as you have not saved any currency-dependent data, for example, in cost planning or actual values.
