Use

To create a customer master record for the Subcontracting for Chargeable Components solution, follow the Structure linkstandard procedure, and, in addition, enter the data described below.

Procedure

Linking the Customer Master Record to the Vendor Master Record

This ensures that you can offset the deductible payables that the subcontractor sends you against your invoices for chargeable components.

...

       1.      On the Control Data tab in the general data, enter the vendor master record that you have created for this subcontractor in the Vendor field.

       2.      On the Payment Transactions tab in the company code data, select Clearing with Vendor.

This setting is essential if you use the percentage-based offset method with this subcontractor. It is not essential if you use the consumption-based offset method, but we still recommend it.

In order for the link to function correctly, you must link the customer master record to the vendor master record as well (see Maintaining Vendor Master Records).

Entering the Subcontractor A/R – Pending Account

When you invoice the subcontractor for chargeable components, the system records the customer item on a special reconciliation account, the Subcontractor A/R – Pending account. This keeps the invoices for chargeable components separate from all other invoices.

On the Account Management tab in the company code data, enter the Subcontractor A/R – Pending account in the Rec. Account field (Reconciliation Account).

Entering Texts

On any screen in the general data, choose Extras ® Texts, and enter texts of your choice under the text IDs that you have created (see Maintenance of Subcontractor Master Data).

Entering the Sales Area Data

When you invoice the subcontractor for chargeable components, the system creates a billing document. In order for the system to be able to so, you must have entered the customer’s sales area data.
