Assignments Between Usage and Architectural
Views (Individual Processing)
You can assign existing usage objects to existing architectural objects or the other way around. This assignment can be either partial or complete. In addition, when you create usage objects, you can specify that they are created from existing architectural objects. The advantage of this assignment is that you can partially or completely adopt the measurements of the assigned object. While doing so, you can automatically or manually update the measurements on the usage object.
You can make assignments between architectural objects and usage objects in four different ways:
...
1. On an existing usage object (on the Architecture tab page)
2. On an existing architectural object (on the Usage tab page)
In both
cases, you can make the assignment in master data processing on the specified
tab page by choosing
with the quick info text Assign.
To remove the
assignment, select the object and choose
with
the quick info text Undo Assignment.
3. When creating a new usage object (with one exception: rental objects)
Here you decide on the initial screen of the transaction if you want the usage object to be created with a link to an existing architectural object. Removing the assignment is done in the same way as in the other two cases.
For more information on creating usage objects, see Master Data ® Usage View ® <object type> ® Edit <object type>
4. Using occupancy planning
Here you can assign multiple architectural or usage objects, or just plan them. You use two reports that enable you to assign and create multiple usage objects at the same time. When doing so, you can adopt measurements either completely or partially.
For more information, see Occupancy Planning (Mass Processing).

Keep in mind the following rules when assigning objects:
...
¡ When you link objects in the usage and architectural views, you always have to start with the highest-level object of the usage hierarchy (business entity). On the other hand, you have to start with the lowest object when you remove the link.
¡ On the usage side, you are only allowed to assign usage objects to an architectural hierarchy within the same time period if the highest-level usage object is already assigned to the architectural hierarchy. For example, you can assign a building only if the business entity is already assigned during the same time period.
¡ The usage objects, business entity, building and land, can only be assigned to one architectural object in a given time period (1:1 assignment).
Multiple assignment is only possible in different company codes.
Decide which object you want to assign to another real estate object or the level at which you want to make the assignment.
For more information on the procedure for assigning architectural objects and usage objects, refer to Assigning Objects of the Usage and Architectural Views.
You created a locality and an architectural building in the architectural view. You first have to assign a business entity to the locality in the usage view before you can link the building below it in the usage view to the architectural building.
