Finding
a Document 
On the Find Documents tab page, you can search for documents that are maintained in document management (SAP application component CA-DMS).
Before you start the search, you can enter selection criteria. By entering search data, you can restrict the hit list to precisely those documents that you require for the current processing situation.

1. Enter the selection criteria.
You can search for documents according to the following criteria:
- Document data (for example, key fields or administrative data)

The possible entries for the document type only show the document types that can be processed on the Web user interface.
You can also enter another document type that has been defined in the control data for document management, even though there are no special settings for processing on the Web user interface. However, documents of this document type are only listed in the hit list. You cannot process these documents further.

Class data for example, company-specific additional data)
You can enter several values for a multiple-value characteristic, separating
them with a semicolon.
- Objects that are linked to the document.
- Full text search (for example, character strings from the original application file)
2. Choose Start Search.
The result of the search is presented in a hit list. This list contains all the documents that meet the selection criteria you entered. The following overview shows some hints on further options for checking the content of a document.

The key data of a document is shown as a link.
3. If you want to display the engineering data for the document, choose the link
You see the object-specific page of a document, and can display more detailed data from here.
On each page, 12 documents are listed. Scrolling functions allow you to see what you want to process. Page numbers tell you where you are in your working environment.
In addition to the key data, the description in the logon language and the current document status are displayed.
The following overview shows which further actions you can perform for an individual document in the list. These icons are only active if the relevant data is maintained.

Selected document data is presented in the form of a data sheet. This function is only active for documents whose document type supports processing on the Web user interface. |
Change document |
You can change the document data (such as company-specific additional data) or add an original application file. Additional functions can be implemented, such as sending a document to a recipient list. This function is only active for documents whose document type supports processing on the Web user interface. |
Display preview |
If a preview exists for a graphical original application file (thumbnail), you can display this. You can only use this function if a thumbnail exists for an original application file. |

If you want to display the previews (thumbnails) of all documents in the hit list, choose Thumbnail.
