Packing Proposal Information 

Use

You can use this function to identify the handling units (HU) that are needed to create a returns request. The packing proposal information represents the HUs provided by the customer for each item. This information is entered in SAP Customer Relationship Management (SAP CRM) and transferred to the returns delivery.

Activities

Customer Portal/EDI Subsystem to SAP CRM

The packing proposal information is sent to SAP CRM as a part of the returns request entered by the customer. This information is optional.

SAP CRM to SAP ECC

After being approved and validated in SAP CRM, the returns request is replicated as an original returns delivery in SAP ECC. This original delivery, with returns-specific data, stores the packing proposal information supplied by the customer.

SAP ECC to SAP ICH

The returns delivery is then transferred to SAP ICH from SAP ECC using the DELVRY05 IDoc. During packing, the packing proposal information is automatically copied as HUs.

SAP ICH to SAP ECC

The customer packs the returns material authorization (RMAs) in HUs while creating returns advanced shipping notification (RASN). Customers can use the same packing proposal information from SAP ECC to pack or create their own HUs in SAP ICH. The customer saves and publishes the RASN, which is then transferred to SAP ECC.
