Function documentation Changes Caused by the Migration Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

The migration does not make any changes to the following data:

Outset data in classic General Ledger Accounting in tables BKPF and BSEG, the secondary indexes, or in totals table GLT0.

Outset data in other ledgers such as in Profit Center Accounting, the cost of sales ledger, the reconciliation ledger, or a special purpose ledger.

     Outset data in other applications

Usually, a migration does not require activities to be performed in any other areas outside General Ledger Accounting. Moreover, the complete reporting functions are available for existing data.

Note

Changes only occur if original posting documents are supplemented for migration purposes or as a result of adjustments made not only in New General Ledger Accounting but in other applications as well. In this case, you need to ensure that, in the migration project, all affected application components are identified and where necessary migrated as well. You cannot perform this migration as part of the migration to New General Ledger Accounting. You also need to ensure that your reporting requirements are still fulfilled for legacy data.

the migration may result in the following changes from the perspective of the document data and balances:

The tables for New General Ledger Accounting (line items, document splitting information, general ledger accounting totals) are first updated.

Standard functions in New General Ledger Accounting (such as document display, account balances, or financial statements) recognize which periods were updated with which scenario. Consequently, you do not have to adjust these functions.

Recommendation

We recommend that, as early as the test phase for the use of New General Ledger Accounting, you ensure that all necessary reports and functions are available for the new accounting method.
