Background documentation Monitoring the Connection with CCMS Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

With the Monitoring Service, SAP NetWeaver provides a central tool for monitoring application-specific resources. You can display this data in both the J2EE Visual Administrator and in the central Computing Center Management System (CCMS).

SAP Biller Direct in the Monitoring Service under Applications ® Biller Direct Information provides the following information:

·        Software version installed

·        Free connections per connection pool

There is a connection pool for every language that you support in the accounting system to which SAP Biller Direct is connected. Whenever a user requests data from the accounting system, he uses one of the connections in the pool. You specify the maximum number of connections in the configuration with Extended Configuration Management (XCM). For more information, see the Configuration Guide for SAP Biller Direct.

If none of the connections is available, the user must wait. If none of the connections becomes free during the configured timeout, the dialog with the user is terminated. Consequently it is important that there are always enough free connections available.

You can use the monitor both to keep informed about the utilization of connections in your system and to increase the maximum number of connections if this is necessary.
