Purpose

With this process you set products, that is packed dangerous goods, as released at the product definition stage, in accordance with dangerous goods regulations. At a later stage in the logistics processing chain, the system simply checks this indicator setting, which makes the dangerous goods checks much faster.

Product release gives you the following advantages:

·        You can select packagings for materials that are subject to dangerous goods regulations on the basis of packing instructions for UN-listed substances.

·        You can select relevant dangerous goods regulations that allow the packaging.

·        You can save the actual packaging data in the dangerous goods master with additional information, such as packing instructions and description of packaging.

·        You can run dangerous goods checks based on the Product Release indicator in sales, shipping, and shipment.

The data for product release is available in the dangerous goods master on the Product Release tab page.

Prerequisites

You have created materials and assigned them real substances and dangerous goods classifications. For more information, see Dangerous Goods Classification Process and Managing Dangerous Goods Data. You have marked the materials in the material master as relevant for dangerous goods.
