GM-GTE Master Data Customizing:
Revaluation
If the currency for a grant is different from the company code currency and if the exchange rate between the two currencies changes, you may need to execute the revaluation program. This creates new actuals/commitments in Grants Management (GM) as well as budget documents in Funds Management (FM) to reflect the new currency translation rates. For the purpose of posting the FM budget documents, you will also need to specify default FM account assignments.
The GM solution includes a function for converting amounts between currencies in budgeting, which you use if you need to account for payments in foreign currencies. You can enter some defaults for this in the Implementation Guide (IMG).
...
1. In the GM IMG, choose Grantee Management ® Master Data ® Revaluation ® Default FM Settings for GM Revaluation.
The Change View: “FM Defaults for Interface with GM Revaluation”: Overview screen appears.
2. Choose New Entries and enter the following per your requirements:
¡ Grant type to which the defaults are to apply
¡ FM area
¡ Fiscal year
¡ Budget document types
¡ Funds center
¡ Commitment item
¡ Functional area
¡ Funded program
3. Save your entries.
4. Now choose Business Add-ins for GM Revaluation ® BAdI: Enhancement for GM Revaluation: Display Exchange Rate.
This step enables the BAdI that permits users to enter conversion factors in the GM revaluation program.
a. In the processing screen, enter or change the long name for the implementation and specify whether the implementation is by ABAP coding or by formula.
b. After you save your specifications here, the GM revaluation program includes two fields where users of this implementation can enter exchange rate factors.
When you use the revaluation feature for grants with the relevant grant type(s) and in the relevant fiscal year as part of your budgeting, the system applies the defaults you have entered here.
