Use

The labeling scenario is the starting point for label determination, the process whereby the system determines suitable labels on the basis of the data from the labeling scenario.

In an enterprise, there are a variety of situations for which labels must be printed. For example, labels can be printed for a Structure linkprocess order as early as during production, or later on for a delivery to a particular customer. Depending on the situation, users are often only familiar with certain and frequently different data, and the system must determine suitable labels on the basis of this information. In order to remedy these differing situations, Global Label Management contains a number of different labeling scenarios. You can tailor these to your requirements and also define new labeling scenarios in Customizing for Global Label Management.

Prerequisites

·        You have defined the labeling scenarios you require in Customizing for Global Label Management under Specify Labeling Scenarios.

·        You have edited the IMG activity Specify RFC Connections in Customizing for Global Label Management, if you want the system to transfer data from logistics objects by Remote Function Call (RFC) out of other systems during the labeling scenario (see paragraph entitled Features).

·        You are authorized to edit the labeling scenario (authorization object C_EHSG_MP1: Label Printing).

Features

The system determines additional data required for label determination from the data you have entered in the labeling scenario. In addition, it also transfers data from logistics objects (for example, process order, delivery, and material document), entered by you in the labeling scenario. The system can also transfer this data by Remote Function Call (RFC) from other systems.

To find out which data you must enter in a labeling scenario and how the system determines the required data for label determination from it, see the documentation on the respective labeling scenarios. The following labeling scenarios are available to you in the standard system:

·        Make-to-Stock labeling scenario

·        Make-to-Order labeling scenario

·        Delivery labeling scenario

·        Goods Receipt labeling scenario

·        Generic labeling scenario

·        Sample labeling scenario
