An object, whose configurations are controlled with the help of a configuration folder. The controlled object is the object for the configuration folder.

In the hierarchical object overview of a configuration folder or Baseline the controlled object is high up in the initial node.

To describe the controlled object in more detail, you can assign other objects to it in a configuration folder such as BOMs, documents (technical drawings, general task lists) and so on.

For example, if you want to control the configuration of a turbine with Configuration Managment, you enter the material number of the turbine as a controlled object in the configuration folder.
