Function documentation Goods Receipt Labeling Scenario Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

In this labeling scenario you can print labels for purchased materials, for example, to label materials for production or the internal material flow.

Prerequisites

See Labeling Scenario.

Features

In this labeling scenario the system determines most of the data required for label determination from the goods receipt material document:

Data

Origin

Material document

The goods receipt material document must be entered by you.

Material

The system uses the material from the material document. If the document contains a number of items, the material of the first item is used. However, you can choose a different item with a different material from the material document.

Batch

The system uses the batch from the item you have chosen from the material document.

Packaging unit and number of packaging units

The system determines the packaging unit and the number of these from the packaging hierarchy of the material and the quantity entered in the material document (see Determination of Type and Number of Packaging Units).

Hierarchy explosion

You can specify whether the packaging hierarchy should be exploded, that is, whether the system should also determine labels for all packaging units that exist in the packaging hierarchy below the packaging unit specified. The packaging hierarchy will not be exploded by default.

Modes of transport and countries

Modes of transport and countries are required for printing labels. Therefore, the system determines the plant from the material document, and uses the modes of transport and validity areas that were assigned to this plant in the IMG activity Specify Values for EPA Numbers, Validity Areas, and Modes of Transport in Customizing for Global Label Management as the modes of transport and validity areas. The system uses the validity areas to determine the countries belonging to them. You can change the modes of transport and countries that are suggested.

Additional user entries

The additional entries you have to make in the labeling scenario depend on the settings you made for the labeling scenario in the IMG activity Specify Labeling Scenarios in Customizing for Global Label Management.

Activities

See Determining Labels.
