Background documentation Checks in Template and One-Time Material Processing Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

In template and one-time material processing, the checks for completeness of the document and the dangerous goods checks run independent of each other. You can save the document only if both check routines allow saving.

Check for Completeness of Document

The completeness of the document has two different aspects in template and one-time material processing:

·        The system checks whether the Dangerous Goods Editing tab page was accessed at least once for each position that is marked as a template or one-time material in the material master. If this check fails, the system informs you of this with a dialog box. You can edit data or save it as long as the remaining checks allow this.

·        The incompleteness control in Customizing for SD allows you to specify fields where editing is mandatory in the document. Whether the system allows saving depends on your settings.

Dangerous Goods Checks

These checks affect the legal aspects of the dangerous goods data for the document items. For example, one of the checks makes sure that the appropriate regulation records for all countries and mode-of-transport categories involved are available for each item in the document. These regulation records come from the dangerous goods document table in the case of template or one-time materials; in standard cases they come from the dangerous goods master.

You can save a document if you have edited all necessary fields in accordance with the incompleteness control and the dangerous goods checks also allow saving. The fact that you have simply ignored the Dangerous Goods Editing tab page is not sufficient to prevent saving.

Notes

When you create a new document, you must always edit the Dangerous Goods Editing tab page to fill its fields with dangerous goods data. If you update an existing document, the following applies:

·        The system copies the data for the template materials automatically to the fields on the Dangerous Goods Editing tab page – even if you do not access the tab page.

·        However, if the fields remain incomplete owing to insufficiently edited data in the template materials, the checks react to this with the reactions set in Customizing.

·        For one-time materials you must always edit the Dangerous Goods Editing tab page, otherwise no dangerous goods data is available. As one-time materials do not contain any dangerous goods data, you must enter it explicitly.
