Easy Cost Planning in Multiple CO
Versions
You use this function to plan costs and revenues for WBS elements in multiple CO versions at the same time using Easy Cost Planning (ECP). With ECP you can:
· Simulate alternative scenarios
· Analyze best case/worst case scenarios
· Freeze a plan
You carried out the following activities in Customizing for the Project System under Costs ® Planned Costs ® Easy Cost Planning and Execution Services ® Easy Cost Planning:
· Define CO Versions for Easy Cost Planning
Here you define a (leading) CO version for each controlling area. Do not change this version at a later date.
· Define Alternative CO Versions
Here you define the CO versions you want available in Easy Cost Planning. Specify a leading CO version here as well.
· Activate Multiple CO Versions
In this activity you activate this function for each controlling area.
For more information, refer to the documentation that accompanies the IMG activity.
In the Edit Costing dialog box (see the “Activities” section), you can use the following functions to edit versions:
·
Details
·
Create Version
·
Copy Version
·
Edit Version
·
Display Version
·
Delete Version
· Lock/Unlock Version (by setting the Locked indicator)
If you use ECP in multiple CO versions, the system carries out the following authorization checks when it calls ECP:
· The system checks whether you have authorization to display costs for each WBS element in the hierarchy you use to access Easy Cost Planning. If you do not, you cannot call ECP.
· In addition, the system checks whether you can change costs. If not, you cannot change costing for the corresponding WBS element.
· Transferring ECP from an appropriation request to a project or WBS element always occurs in the leading CO version.
· You can carry out Easy Execution Services in the leading CO version only.
· Sales pricing (created in Easy Cost Planning) always reads the relevant costs from the leading CO version.
·
If you want
to copy the itemization, you must use the
Copy Version
function in the Edit Costing dialog
box in the Project Builder. The following constraints apply for
copying in other transactions:
¡ The transactions Copy WBS Plan to Plan (Collective/Individual) (CJ9B/CJ9BS) do not copy Easy Cost Planning.
¡ The transaction Copy Project Costing (Collective/Individual) (CJ9F/CJ9FS) copy only the CO totals records.
...
1. Open a project (or WBS element) in the Project Builder.
2.
Choose
Easy Cost
Planning.
The Edit Costing dialog box appears. You see the plan versions you already created for the project:
¡ The create, copy, lock/unlock, and delete functions are available only if you enter the Project Builder using the entire project.
¡ The Locked indicator is for information purposes only. If the indicator is set, you cannot call up planning for the corresponding version.
¡ The Cost Estimates indicator shows whether cost estimates exist in the subtree (when accessing using subhierarchies). Only once costing for the corresponding version is deleted from the entire project hierarchy, the row for the version disappears from the dialog box.
3. Select a version (other than one to create) and then choose the required function (see the Features section).

You must specify a costing variant when you create a version, if you have not already done so in the IMG activity Define Alternative CO Versions (see the Prerequisites section).
