Maintaining Period Rules 
You can use the
period rule to control the
periodic tasks in
the commission system. The period
rules are linked to each standard agreement in the commission
contract.

1. In the commission system, choose Tools ® Administration ® Current Settings ® Maintain Period Rule.
2. Choose New Entries.
3. Enter a name for the period rule.
4. Choose a Reference Period and the Cycle.
5. Specify the effective and the technical validity date.
6. Select the entry and choose Periods – Active Versions in the dialog structure.
7. The system displays a dialog box. If you want to generate the periods, choose Yes.
8. Enter the date up to which the periods are to be generated.
The system checks whether the generated periods are open, meaning whether they can be processed or not.
9. Save your entries.

You can update the entries or add to them at a later time.
You can also generate more periods at a later time.
Do not make any settings for the period rules in Customizing, as this does not have to be a unique transaction in period maintenance.
You have created a period rule with the reference period month and cycle 6. The periodic tasks are thus carried out every six months.
