Grouping Pers. Assignments for Net Calc., Retr. Accounting, and
Payment
The system groups personnel assignments for a concurrently employed person according to grouping reason XXNT (Net, Retroactive, Payment) differently in the Payroll country versions. Depending on the country, different master data changes therefore lead to a change in this grouping for a personnel assignment.
You have checked the Customizing settings for grouping personnel assignments and, if necessary, adapted them to meet your demands, in Customizing of Personnel Management under Personnel Administration ® Basic Settings ® Basic Settings for Concurrent Employment ® Editor for Personnel Assignment Groupings.
The following are some examples of how the system groups the personnel assignments for net calculation, retroactive accounting, and payment in different country versions:
The system groups for grouping reason XXNT (Net, Retroactive, Payment) according to the employer to whom the personnel assignments belong. The employer is defined by the registration number.
A personnel assignment is not assigned to a registration number directly, but over the personnel area. In Customizing, you have defined a registration number for each of the personnel areas in your company. You have also assigned a grouping value to each registration number in Customizing. The system uses this grouping value to group the personnel assignments according to the employer.
The following graphic shows how Payroll: Canada assigns a grouping value to a personnel assignment:

If you change the entry in the personnel area field in the Organizational Assignment infotype (0001), this can mean that the employer of the personnel assignment in question has been changed.
The system also groups according to the employer to whom the personnel assignments belong. The employer is defined by the tax company.
A personnel assignment is not assigned to a tax company directly, but over a combination of the personnel area and personnel subarea. In Customizing, you have defined a tax company for each combination of personnel area and personnel subarea in your company. The system uses the tax company as the grouping value to group the personnel assignments according to the employer.
The following graphic shows how Payroll: USA assigns a grouping value to a personnel assignment:

If you change the entry in the personnel area field or the personnel subarea field in the Organizational Assignment infotype (0001), this can mean that the employer of the personnel assignment in question has been changed.
The system groups according to the legal person to whom the personnel assignments belong. Every personnel assignment is assigned to a legal person over the personnel area. The system uses the entry in the Legal Person field in the Organizational Assignment infotype (0001) of the personnel assignment in question as the grouping value.
If you change the entry in the legal person field or the personnel subarea field in the Organizational Assignment infotype (0001), this can mean that the grouping for net calculation, retroactive accounting and payment has been changed.

The Legal Person field must be filled because otherwise the system cannot assign any grouping to the personnel assignment.
