Status Management in Configuration Management
Use
These Configuration Management objects are subject to status management:
When these objects have reached a particular processing status, set a new status. The status influences which
business transactions can be carried out.Features
In the SAP Standard system, a specific
Systemstatus is strictly defined for configuration definitions and Baselines.For each configuration definition and each configuration folder, you can also define a status profile for the user status.
If you want to work with the user status, you must first define a status profile for the user status. You define the status profiles for individual object types in Customizing Configuration Management under CM objects ® <Object type > ® Define status profile.
Activities
On the Configuration folder and Configuration definition tab pages, there is a Status field, on which all statuses are listed that are set in the current processing situation for the configuration folder or configuration definition.
Click on 
, to display detailed infomation on the statuses. On the Business transactions tab page, there is information about which operations are permitted in the current processing situation.
