Function documentation Data Collection for Employees Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

This function enables you to collect cost-relevant data on employees that is to be included in personnel cost planning. The function generates the data basis you will use for creating personnel cost plans.

Integration

If necessary, you execute data collection for employees in addition to data collection for organizational objects.

Caution

If you collect employee data and want to use it to generate data on organizational units, you must perform data collection for employees before you execute data collection for organizational objects.

Prerequisites

You have completed planning preparation.

Features

You use the Collection of Personnel Cost Planning Data for Employees program (RHHCP_DC_EMPLOYEE) for data collection. For more information about the features of this program, see the relevant program documentation.

Activities

...

       1.      To execute the Collection of Personnel Cost Planning Data for Employees program from the SAP Easy Access menu, choose Human Resoures ® Personnel Management ® Personnel Cost Planning ® Data Collection ® Employees.

       2.      Enter the required data and execute the program.

Note

For more information about the data collection methods, see the relevant method documentation. Choose Data Collection and then Information for the data collection method you require.

       3.      The system generates direct cost items from the collected data. If you have implemented the Business Add-In (BAdI) Change Cost Item Subrecords, the system processes the cost items as necessary before it saves them.

Example

The BAdI enables you to make the following changes:

·         Add, change, or delete cost items

·         Change the account assignment of cost items

·         Round amounts up/down, change amounts, or convert amounts to a different currency

       4.      The system creates at least one record for each employee and each direct cost item in the Planning of Personnel Costs infotype (0666). It also saves each cost item in this infotype record.

       5.      If you specified that the system should create a log when you executed the program, the system displays the created data records in a list. If any errors occurred while the program was being executed, the system displays these regardless of whether a log is created or not.

Note

You can specify how long the system should store the error log. You specify this in Customizing for Personnel Cost Planning and Simulation under Edit Basic Settings. The system stores logs for 30 days as standard.

Example

The following figure shows an example of data collection. You execute data collection for the employee Hans Bosch, and use the data collection method Basic Pay infotype (0008), Additional Payments infotype (0015), and Data from Training and Event Management.
