You can create various layouts in order to manage the entity categories and entity types that are possible for your user. User layouts can be managed using the filter option or by selecting an appropriate layout.

 

Filter

You can use the filter option on the New  tab page to select the range of the entity types allowed for your user.

       1.      In the search area on the left-hand side of the workbench screen, select This graphic is explained in the accompanying text with the quick info text Set Filter

A dialog box appears in which you can specify the filter identification.

       2.      In the field Filter ID, select the appropriate range for the entity types that you want to show in the workbench. The filter identification is a concatenation of the name of the application component, the identification number of the entity category and the entity type.

       3.      To exclude entity types from the selected ranges, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text with the quick info text Multiple selection (active). You can exclude single selections or even a range of entity types.

 

Managing Layouts

You can use the layouts to save the selections that you have made using the filter identification. The standard system provides a standard layout - Std-one. You can also create new layouts specific to your user. The following possibilities exist for managing layouts:

 

Setting the layout provided in the standard system as the default layout.

To select the layout provided in the standard system, you must:

       1.      Select This graphic is explained in the accompanying text with quick info text Layout and then select Manage layout using the list arrow on the icon.

       4.      On the Manage layout screen, select This graphic is explained in the accompanying text to set the layout as standard for all the users.

       5.      If you want to change the standard layout, you first select the appropriate filter identifications. You then use the Save layout function to select the standard layout.

       6.      Save your settings.

 

Selecting an existing layout:

To select a layout that you defined earlier, you must:

       1.      Select This graphic is explained in the accompanying text with the quick info text Layout and then choose the Select layout function using the list arrow that appears on this icon.

The list of layouts possible for the logon details of the user will be shown.

       7.      Select an appropriate layout that you want to use.

       8.      Choose Enter to save your settings.

 

Creating a new layout:

To create a new layout specific to your user, you must:

...

       1.      Select the range of the entity types using the appropriate filter identifications.

       2.      Select This graphic is explained in the accompanying text with the quick info text Layout and choose Save layout in the list arrow that appears on this icon.

       3.      Specify a name and description for the new layout.

If you have defined user-specific layouts, you will see the button User layout in the Manage layout screen. You can select this button to display the available user layouts.

       4.      Save the layout.

 

Note

If you have defined one or more default layouts, the user-specific settings will take precedence over the standard settings. If you do not select a layout, all the entity categories and types that are possible for your user will be shown.
