Managing
Personnel Cost Plans
This function enables you to create personnel cost plans, execute cost planning runs, and, if necessary, transfer planning results to Controlling.

You use this function to perform all process steps for Creating Personnel Cost Plans.
As a personnel cost planner, this function also allows you to perform the step Transfer Plan Data to Controlling in the process Providing Personnel Cost Plans for Subsequent Processes. The person responsible for planning in Accounting can also perform this step. This person, however, uses a different function because he or she does not have access to Managing Personnel Cost Plans. For more information, see Transferring Plan Data to Controlling.
You have made the necessary settings in Customizing for Personnel Cost Planning and Simulation:
· To create personnel cost plans and execute cost planning runs, you have processed the Cost Planning Runs section.
· To transfer plan data to Controlling, you have also processed the Posting to Accounting section.
You have completed data collection.
Managing personnel cost plans comprises the following functions:
· Create, change, or delete personnel cost plans
· Display plan data
When you execute a cost planning run, the system displays the plan data automatically in a list. You can display plan data as follows from the Managing Personnel Cost Planning screen:
¡ Double-click on a plan or a planning run to display all plan data for this plan or planning run in the quarterly view.
¡ Double-click on a package to display the plan data for a cost unit in the quarterly view.

On the Display Plan Data screen, you can select other standard views and time intervals for displaying data.
· Display changes to plan data
If the line managers or personnel cost planner made changes to the data in detail planning, you can display these changes in a list.
· Copy changes made to plan data
If the line managers or personnel cost planner made changes to the data in detail planning, you can copy these changes to another plan. This is provided that no detail planning has been executed for the plan to which you want to copy the changes.

This makes sense in the following example: You have created a personnel cost plan for which you have performed cost planning runs. The line managers have also completed detail planning. Subsequently, fundamental changes have been made to the organizational structure of your enterprise or to the data basis. Therefore, you create a new personnel cost plan for which you execute the same cost planning runs. You copy the changes previously made by the line managers in detail planning to the new plan. This ensures that the line managers do not have to perform detail planning again.

If a line manager or the personnel cost planner performed an organizational reassignment for an employee in detail planning, you cannot copy this change from one personnel cost plan to another.
· Compare personnel cost plans
· Check object assignment
You can check whether the same employee or the same organizational object occurs in the plan more than once. This is the case, if you have selected the employee or the organizational object in several cost planning runs. Delete the cost planning run in which the employee or organizational object should not be selected. Execute the cost planning run again with the correct selection.

The system also checks the object assignment automatically when you release plan data.
· Delete plan data
Provided that you have not yet posted the plan to Controlling, you can still delete plan data from a cost planning run. You must first cancel the release of the cost planning run.
After the plan has been transferred to Controlling, you can no longer use this function to delete the plan. This is regardless of whether you cancel the transfer.

To delete plan data for personnel cost plans that you have already transferred to Controlling, use the function Delete Plans in the Tools menu.
· Releasing Planning Runs or Cancelling Their Release
· Display, check or update original documents
To simulate the transfer to Controlling, you can check the original document(s) for a personnel cost plan. The system performs the same steps it performs for the actual transfer, apart from the transfer itself. This enables you as personnel cost planner, for example, to check whether the transfer would be performed correctly. The person responsible for planning in Accounting can transfer the plan using a specific transfer function.
If you have already created an original document and the line managers or the personnel cost planner have changed plan data for the relevant cost planning run, you must update the original document. This enables you to copy the subsequenty changes to the previously created original document.
· Transferring Plan Data to Controlling or Cancelling the Transfer
To execute the function from the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Human Resources ® Personnel Management ® Personnel Cost Planning ® Cost Plans ® Manage.
