Procedure documentation Editing Specifications for Wastes Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

This procedure describes how you create and change a specification for a waste and how you assign materials and waste codes to this specification if required.

In the specifications, you can store the following data, for example:

·        Physical-chemical properties

·        Waste law data

·        Safety data

·        Transport-relevant data

·        Toxicological data

Example

In the specification, you can store, among other things, the data that you need for a characterization analysis.

Prerequisites

You have created the materials and waste codes that you want to assign to the specifications.

Procedure

       1.      In the Waste Management menu, choose Master Data ® Waste Workbench.

       2.      In the navigation area of the Waste Workbench, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Substance by double-clicking it.

The Edit Specification: Initial Screen appears. The specification category Substance is preset.

Creating Specifications

       3.      Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text with the quick info Create.

The Create Specification: Header screen appears.

       4.      Enter data as required on the Specification header tab page. If you have specified your own Structure linkspecification type for wastes under Specify Specification Types in Customizing for Basic Data and Tools, select this specification type.

       5.      Choose the Identifiers tab page and enter data as required. You can specify waste descriptions in various languages, for example, as identifiers.

       6.      Choose the Material assignments tab page and enter the materials that you want to assign to the specification. You can find the cases in which you should assign materials to the specifications in this way under Specification-to-Waste Assignment.

       7.      If required, enter additional data on the other tab pages, for example references, status data, or inheritance relationships. For more information about these and other possible entries, see the corresponding sections in Structure linkSpecification Management.

       8.      In the detail area of the Waste Workbench, choose the value assignment types by double-clicking the ones for which you want to enter data, and enter this data. In the value assignment type Waste codes that is delivered in the standard system, you can assign waste codes to the specification as follows:

                            a.      In the Waste catalog characteristic, enter the waste catalog to which the waste code belongs and confirm your entry.

                            b.      In the Waste code characteristic, enter the waste codes from the waste catalog that you want to assign to the specification.

       9.      Save your entries.

       3.      Enter the search criteria and choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text with the quick info Hit List. For more information about searching for specifications, see Structure linkSpecification Search.

The Edit Specification: Hit List screen appears.

       4.      Choose the specification of the waste you want to change by double-clicking.

       5.      Enter data as required on the tab pages. For information about which data you can enter on individual tab pages, see the section Creating Specifications.

       6.      If you want to change the values assigned to the waste, choose the value assignment type you wish to change by double-clicking it in the detail area of the Waste Workbench, and enter the necessary data. In the value assignment type Waste codes that is delivered in the standard system, you can assign waste codes to the specification as follows:

                            a.      In the Waste catalog characteristic, enter the waste catalog to which the waste code belongs and confirm your entry.

                            b.      In the Waste code characteristic, enter the waste codes that you want to assign to the specification.

       7.      Save your entries.
