Assigning Waste Codes
This procedure describes how you assign waste codes to a disposal document or change an existing assignment. A distinction is made between the following cases:
· A waste code that you specify on the Waste approval tab page is assigned to the entire disposal document (general waste code) and therefore applies to all wastes in the disposal document. This type of assignment is commonly used for the disposal document type BGS (Begleitschein), for example.
· A waste code that you specify on the Waste code tab page is only assigned to the waste for which it was specified. This type of assignment is commonly used for the disposal document type HWM (hazardous waste manifest), for example.
· You have created the waste code.
· You have processed the IMG activity Permitted Number of Waste Codes per Disposal Document Type in Customizing for Waste Management.
· You have executed the procedure Editing Disposal Documents for the required disposal document and are on the Create Disposal Documents or Change Disposal Documents screen.
Note the following when you assign waste codes:
· In Customizing for Waste Management, you specify under Permitted Number of Waste Codes per Disposal Document Type, for each disposal document type the waste catalogs from which the assigned waste codes must originate and the maximum number of waste codes from the respective waste catalogs that you can assign to the entire disposal document and to the individual wastes in the disposal document.
· If you have assigned a waste approval to the disposal document, you can only assign the waste codes that were assigned to the waste approval in the master data to the entire disposal document and to the individual wastes in the disposal document (see Editing Waste Code Assignments). The system proposes only these waste codes in the input help and adopts them automatically in certain cases when you assign the waste approval to the disposal document.
·
If you have
assigned a waste to the disposal document and you have set the Autom.
WstCodes indicator for the disposal document type under Specify
Disposal Document Types in Customizing for Waste Management, the
system automatically proposes the waste codes that you assigned to the
waste. The system determines the waste codes from the
specifications
that you assigned to the waste material (see Specification-to-Waste
Assignment). For more information, see the IMG activity
Specify Disposal Document Types and the field help for the Autom.
WstCodes indicator in this IMG activity.
· In the standard system, waste life-cycle analyses are only created on the basis of the waste codes that have been assigned to the individual wastes in a disposal document. Therefore, under Specify Disposal Document Types in Customizing for Waste Management, you can specify for each disposal document type that the waste codes that have been assigned to an entire disposal document on the Waste approval tab page are also automatically assigned to all wastes in the disposal document on the Waste code tab page. In addition, you can specify that the system automatically checks whether the general waste codes correspond to the waste codes for the assigned wastes. For more information, see the IMG activity Specify Disposal Document Types and the field helps for the GenWst Codes for waste, CodeChk:wst.agst doc, and All wst/partn. comb. indicators in this IMG activity.
