Shipping Notification Receipt 
Shipping notifications enable you to determine the items you expect to receive from the customer or the carrier. They also include all of the relevant packing information. Shipping notifications can be sent by the customer.
In the master data of the business partner, you have configured whether the customer can submit returns advanced shipping notifications (RASNs) in the portal in SAP ICH.

After the returns authorization is created, customers are provided with the return materials authorization (RMA) number and the approved quantities for the items that the customer requested for return. The SAP ICH dealer portal system also proposes a list of suitable carriers. The customer can confirm the returns authorization by sending a shipping notification through the dealer portal.
The returns ASN message contains both the actual quantities the customer wants to return for each RMA number and packing information. In SAP ECC, the returns ASN is represented by a newly created returns delivery, which is created from the existing returns deliveries that represent the approved returns authorization.
The following figure illustrates this process:

The customer can send multiple returns ASNs for one RMA number, until the approved quantity is consumed or until the customer marks the authorization as complete.

If the customer sends an incorrect returns ASN via the portal, the returns ASN can be cancelled via /SPE/RET_WRONG_ASN_MONTR as long as it has not yet been distributed to SAP EWM.
