Defining Settings for
Extraction and Conversion
Different application areas and user groups maintain different product structures for the same product, with different explosion levels. For example, you maintain different product structures for the usages engineering and production.
The settings determine how the structure evaluation and data transfer to a material BOM works. For example, one setting influences the level of detail for the product structure.

To control which status of the product is decomposed and which data is extracted, you use a focus or filter.
You define the settings as follows:
...
1. Choose Logistics ® Production ® Master Data ® Product and Process Engineering ® Convert Product Structure.
2.
Select
(Settings for Extraction
and Conversion).
The dialog box Settings appears.
3. For an overview of the options you can set, see Overview of Settings.
-
If you want to define settings for the
structure evaluation and screen sequence, choose the
(Settings) tab page.

If you want to define settings for
creating BOM objects, choose the
(Create) tab page.
-

(Delete) tab page.

All settings are automatically saved for the current processing situation for your user. The settings apply until the next time you call the conversion process. You can save specific settings if you implement BAdI PDCNV (BAdI for the Product Designer).
You return to the Defined iPPE Extraction screen, where you can enter a focus or filter. After defining these settings, you start the conversion.
