Procedure documentation Federal Government: Customizing Preclosing (BCS) Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

Before you can run the programs in preclosing, you must enter some configuration settings for them.

Procedure

In the Implementation Guide (IMG), choose Public Sector Management ®Functions for the US Federal Government ®Closing Operations ®Closing (BCS/New Budgetary Ledger). Then proceed as follows:

...

       1.      Choose Collected Fields Year-End.

       2.      The Change View: “Collect Fields”: Overview screen appears.

       3.      Choose New Entries, enter a company code and use the list displayed to select the objects whose data you want to collect in preclosing.

       4.      Save your entries.

       5.      Next, return to the IMG and choose Year-End Closing Rules.

       6.      Specify a company code and fiscal year, then press Enter.

In the resulting overview, you need to specify two sets of rules – one for preclosing and one for the closing itself. The procedure is the same for both.

       7.      Choose either Preclosing or Closing in the dialog structure, then choose New Entries.

       8.      Specify the following:

¡        FM Fund Status

The settings you make in the account fields (see below) are applied to funds with the status you specify here.

¡        From Sender Account

¡        To Sender Account

Use these two fields to specify the range of accounts from which closeout postings may originate. If you want to use only one account, specify this in the From Sender Account field.

¡        Receiver Account

Use this field to specify the account to which closeout postings may be sent.

¡        Return or Supplement

If a budget posting is required to close out the accounts specified, the posting is usually a budget transfer. Check this box if you want a return or supplement to be used instead.

       9.      Save your entries.

Result

You can now carry out the closing operations available in the BCS scenario.
