Use
If you fix a baseline, the system fixes the master data as well as the structure for specific object types. This ensures that the processing status of the fixed objects can be reproduced later.
If you create a baseline, you can do the following:
For more information, see
Generating a Baseline.Prerequisites
Material master records and document info records are only fixed if the indicator Relevant for Configuration Management is set in the master record.
Furthermore, different prerequisites apply to different object types. For more information, see the documentation on fixing individual object types.
Features
In release 4.6C objects can be fixed for the following object types:
For all other objects, the system simply defines a reference to the object in the structure of the baseline. However, the object itself is not fixed.
Processing Objects After Fixing
To process objects after fixing, the following special features apply:
In release 4.6C the system locks all fields in the material master record that are defined as relevant to fixing. No further changes can be made to these fields.
For BOMs, fixing is controlled by engineering change management. If a BOM is part of a baseline, you can only change the BOM with reference to a change number that is not in the baseline.
Once a document info record has been fixed, you cannot change the document info record. If you want to process the document further, create a new document version.
