Definition

A part of a profile that allows you to meet your requirements more efficiently by adjusting the inbound process to your user groups and their roles.

Use

You can define the following profile modules (by assigning users to user groups and then these user groups to a profile) in Customizing for Service Parts Management (SPM) under Extended Inbound Delivery Processing (SPM) ® UI Profiles  ® Profile Modules. You then combine and assign them to form an overall UI profile under Service Parts Management (SPM) ® Extended Inbound Delivery Processing (SPM) ® UI Profiles ® Maintain Profile  ® Assign Profile Modules to UI Profile.

You can assign one or more user groups to a user interface (UI) profile. Users have access to all profiles to which they have been assigned. There following is a list of the user-specific profiles and transaction profiles:

·        Function Profile

You assign certain functions to a profile which is then available for the user in Extended Inbound Delivery Processing. You define for each function how it is to be displayed in the dialog.

You can decide where to position the pushbuttons for calling up the individual functions. For each function, you can choose whether you want it to be represented by a pushbutton, and if so, whether you want a pushbutton with an icon, with text, or with both. If you have decided against using a pushbutton as a shortcut to a certain function, you can still call up this function via the menu.

·        Object Profile

Object profiles contain objects like inbound deliveries and addresses of partners (vendor, freight forwarder, service agent).

For each object, you can define which screen areas you want to be visible for certain users, whether you want the views to be expanded when you call them up and which tab pages you want to have on the screen.

You can define customer-specific tab pages for each object and display them on the screen. You can also use the object profile to define for which users you want these tab pages to be visible.

·        Selection Profile

You define which selection conditions are used to read inbound deliveries from the database. It is possible to set, for example, that all inbound deliveries with the overall status C (processed completely) are displayed in a profile for the person who is responsible for clearing.

·        Column Profile

You can maintain how the system represents the individual objects in the tree. Your settings determine the column headers; you also define for each object which entries the individual columns contain and according to which column you want sorting to be carried out.

·        Filter Profile

You determine according to which receiving points, plants, storage locations and delivery dates the system sorts inbound deliveries. You also define whether the system is to display inbound deliveries with errors.

You can use the filter profile to assign a user group to a specific receiving point, for example. This user group only gets all inbound deliveries for processing that are received at this receiving point.

Individual user settings can override the settings for the filter profile.

·        Configuration Profile

The configuration profile contains options for the display of inbound deliveries and general settings for goods receipt.

In the general settings, you define, for example, whether the system is to select the work list when accessing the extended inbound delivery processing function, or whether an HTML page is displayed in the document area.

Individual user settings can override the settings for the configuration profile.

·        Overall Profile

In the overall profile for the extended inbound delivery processing function, you combine the individual profile modules. You define whether the profile is user-specific or whether it is a transaction profile.

You can either allow users to change the settings themselves or just give them display authorization. At the same time, you can display the current values of the profile module.
