Former Budgetary Ledger
Some Public Sector customers, such as agencies of the US Federal Government, are subject to regulations that require postings to general ledger accounts dealing with the budget, in addition to the usual Funds Management postings.
With this in mind, SAP’s Federal Government solution includes the budgetary ledger. With it, you can ensure that the general ledger postings required to reflect the postings to accounts representing consumption of budget are made automatically.
The functions are as follows:
· Budgetary ledger processor
This is a set of functions that validate the required fields and the consistency of entries. It expects a balanced document and is not dependent on account derivation.
· Account derivation
¡ We deliver the account derivation tools required by agencies of the US Federal Government to determine the budgetary accounts from the US Standard General Ledger (SGL) associated with a transaction.
Note that derivations are also required by other parts of the solution, such as FACTS I and FACTS II. These are described in the appropriate documentation.
¡ You must create the logic needed for your own environment. It may be that the business transaction event (BTE) number 00104010 that we deliver meets your requirements.
¡ If it does not, you can create your own logic by making a copy of the function module, using the same name but prefixing it with “Z”. You can then add your own logic to it.
¡ Alternatively, you can completely replace the existing function module with one of your own.
