Material Management 

Use

Material master data is downloaded to the mobile device upon check-out. You can display but not create or change this data on the mobile device.

Features

Material data is organized using the following objects:

·        Basic and sales area material master view data

·        Alternative units of measure (UoMs)

·        Empties bill of materials (BOM)

·        Product hierarchy

Basic and sales area material master views

The general material master data is separated into two tables and structured in the “basic data” and “sales area” views.

The mobile device inherits organizational units from the Settlement database because the route accounting database only supports a single sales area.

Alternative units of measure

A table containing associated alternative units of measure (UoMs) is downloaded for each material. Alternative UoM functionality is explained in greater detail in Inventory Management.

Empties bill of materials (BOM)

Separate empties BOMs are maintained. These BOMs are used to explode tied empties on orders, deliveries, and invoices.

Material sorting and searching

Materials are sorted in list screens (for example, check-out and check-in) according to their material numbers. Sorting is based on material number and searching is allowed on material description, material number and EAN.
