Use

We recommend that you create a new rule by copying an existing rule. This ensures that all rule elements are also copied. However, if there is no point in copying an existing rule and then changing it to meet your requirements, you can create a new rule instead.

Prerequisites

A rule can only be created under a particular name if no standard rule already exists with this name. When creating a new rule, see the notes on the assignment of names for standard rules and customer rules.

Activities

Perform the following steps in the specified order:

  1. Create the rule attributes
  2. Create the source text for the rule
  3. Create documentation for the rule

If you do not have an automatic transport connection to your live clients, write the rule to a transport request. For more information, see Transport Connection (Rules).
