Account Determination

Use

When the Inflation Adjustment of Monetary Items program generates inflation adjustment documents, it automatically posts them to the correct inflation adjustment accounts.

Activities

Customizing

You specify which inflation adjustment accounts you want to use in Customizing for Financial Accounting (FI), by choosing Financial Accounting Global Settings ® Inflation Accounting ® Account Determination ® Maintain G/L Accounts for Inflation Postings.

For the period-end inflation adjustments, enter data as follows:

Enter the account that you want to debit the adjustments to in the Definitive Inflation Gain or Loss group box, in the General field.
Enter the account that you want to credit the adjustments to in the Contra Accounts group box, in the General field.

For the reversal documents, enter data as follows:

Enter the account that you want to debit the reversal to in the Contra Accounts group box, in the General field.
Enter the account that you want to credit the adjustments to in the Definitive Inflation Gain or Loss group box, in the Specific field.

Closing

When you run the program, it automatically determines which accounts to post the inflation adjustment documents to.
