Industry Assignment 

Definition

The categorization of business partners (of the business partner category “organization”) according to industries.

Use

In business partner maintenance, you can assign a business partner to various industries, after making the corresponding settings for these industries in Customizing.

The assignment of business partners to industries provides you with an additional characteristic for identifying business partners if, depending on your application, you want, for example, to create mailing lists or to carry out statistical surveys according to industries.

Integration

You can make the industry assignment of business partners for several industry systems at the same time. You can in turn assign as many industries as you like to an industry system.

You can select the industry system with which you mainly work as the standard industry system.

Make the necessary settings in the Implementation Guide (IMG) in Customizing of the Business Partner under Organizations ®Industry Systems and Industries.
