Function documentation Query View Selection with a Dropdown Box Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

The Web item dropdown box enables simple navigation between data providers of type query view using specific parameter settings. The initial status of a data provider of this type is defined by specifying an InfoProvider, a query or a query view. Every InfoProvider, query and query view is assigned to a predefined Web item that you have saved as a reusable Web item in the Web Application Designer. Each assignment of an InfoProvider, query or query view to a Web item appears as an entry in a dropdown box. To switch between the various data providers you select an entry form the dropdown box.

Features

The InfoProvider, the query or the query view defines the navigational state, that is, the data configuration, and the Web item defines the type of visualization of the data, that is, display in a table, as a chart, or as a map.

Activities

·        You can use one or more dropdown box Web items in a Web template of the Web Application Designer. If you have integrated this Web item into a Web template, you can define several entries for the dropdown box. In the parameters for the Web item, you can also enter the InfoProvider, query or query view, the Web items for visualization of the data and descriptions for the entries in the dropdown box. You can also determine whether there should be a command from the Web Design API when selecting an entry in the dropdown box.

·        It is also necessary that you insert a Web item for visualization of the data (the target Web item) into your Web template and that you assign a data provider to your Web template. See Dropdown Boxs.
