Function documentation Displaying Exceptions in Maps and Charts Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

This function enables you to display exceptions on charts and maps in Web applications.

Prerequisites

The following prerequisites must be met before you can display exceptions in charts or maps in your Web application:

You have assigned a data provider that contains exceptions to the Chart or Map Web item that you have integrated into your Web template. See Defining Exceptions.

Activities

When displaying exceptions in charts and maps, the system automatically assigns three colors (that cannot be changed) to the alert levels one to nine:

Alert Level

Color

One

Two

Three

Green

Four

Five

Six

Yellow

Seven

Eight

Nine

Red

Note

Note the following:

The assignment of alert levels to colors is fixed. Therefore the system does not take into consideration any special stylesheets you have assigned to an alert level in the exception definition.

Example

By using a special stylesheet, you have assigned the color grey to alert level 2 and now want to see the data in a bar chart, for example. However, the system does not display the bar in grey but in green.

The colors of the alert levels cannot be seen in the chart or map legend.

If you have assigned a data provider that contains exceptions to a chart or a map and these exceptions are not supposed to be displayed on the chart or map, you need to make the appropriate settings in the properties dialog box for the Chart or Map Web item in the Web Application Designer:

For the Chart Web item, select the attribute Ignore Exceptions (IGNORE_EXCEPTIONS).

In the appropriate map level, select the attribute Ignore Exceptions When Displaying the Map Level (IGNORE_EXCEPTIONS) for the Map Web item.
