Settings in the RE Navigator

Here you can make settings for the RE Navigator. In the menu for the RE Navigator, choose

Utilities ® Settings

If you want to transfer the default settings from Customizing, select the Use System Settings indicator.

If you want to make individual settings or change default settings for the RE Navigator, do not select the indicator. Use the following procedure.

Navigation Tab

Settings for the initial screen and for the navigation area:

·         Initial Screen: Here you can select the initial screen (help text, background picture, own picture) for the transaction. If you do not select the help text, you still can display/hide it using This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

·         Display of Navigation Area: You can have the system display the navigation area as a fixed part of the screen (choose: As Part of Window) or in a separate window.

·         Direct Display of Objects When Selected: When you set this indicator, an object selected in the browser (such as business entity 0001/1) is not only displayed in the tree structure but also directly in the detail view.

·         Use Standard Icons: If you want to use the standard icons This graphic is explained in the accompanying text and This graphic is explained in the accompanying text instead of the icons assigned in Customizing, select this indicator.

·         Max. Number of Last Objects: Here you can specify whether and how many of the last real estate objects to be called up should be available for selection. These last objects are also displayed under This graphic is explained in the accompanying text with the quick info text Favorites. To delete the list, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

In the section Browser Selection, you can specify which additional functions (such as Resubmission) should be available.

General Tab

Settings for the error list and for the navigation area:

·         Hide Navigation Area: Set this indicator if you want the navigation area for all master data dialogs to be turned off as a default. You can still display the navigation area again in each master data dialog by choosing This graphic is explained in the accompanying text with the quick info text Navigation Area On/Off (F9).

·         Error List: Specify here whether the error list should appear in a modeless window. Furthermore, you can specify here that errors are displayed in a tree structure. However, this setting can only be made for a modeless window.

Background Picture

If you selected Display Background Picture for the initial screen, you can make additional settings for the background picture. Right-click the background picture and choose Settings. Ensure that the Use System Settings indicator is not selected.

Several background pictures and a default initial screen are available. You can also load one of your own pictures from the SAP Web Repository (transaction SMW0) into the system for use as a background picture. For this, choose Specify Own Graphic for the background picture. The Own Background Graphic field can then take the object ID of the picture.

You can determine the type of display of the selected picture (such as normal or stretched) by making an entry in the Display Mode field.
