The Notice Process
· Notice procedures
· Period regulation
· Deadline regulation
Notice procedures can contain multiple notice rules, as in the case of contract terms in which different periods of notice apply for contractee (tenant) and contractor (landlord) (see Example).
The contract has the status active.
You created notice rules, if applicable, in Customizing:
SAP Customizing Implementation Guide ® Flexible Real Estate Management (Enterprise Extension) ® Contract ® Notice

However, you can also create your own notice rules and procedures in contract processing on the Term tab page.
Specify Notice Rules
You are processing a real estate contract (also refer to Processing Real Estate Contracts).
...
1. On the Term tab page, choose the Notice term in the table. In the lower part of the screen, tabs for Notice and Memo are displayed.
2. Choose a notice type.

Standard notice procedures are set up in Customizing (see Prerequisites).
Standard Notice Procedure
3.
If you
choose a standard notice procedure, you can simulate the end of the contract
by choosing
with the quick info text Simulate
Notice. If you entered an explanatory text for the notice procedure in
Customizing, you can display it here by choosing
with
the quick info text Display Description. If this icon is white, then no
description was entered.
Individual Notice Procedures
4. If you wish to create your own notice rules, choose Individual Notice Procedure.
a. Enter a name for the notice procedure in the Name of Term field. This name appears later in the RE Navigator in the object data for the term.
b.
In the
detail area, a table appears where you can access a fast entry mode for
creating new period regulations
and deadline
regulations by choosing
with
the quick info text Create Notice Rule.
c. Enter data as required.
d. When processing your own period regulation or deadline regulation, you can simulate notice. You can also leave fast entry and go to expert mode.

It is not possible to enter rules for all cases in the fast entry mode. There are cases where you need to use expert mode. Once you choose expert mode, you cannot return to the fast entry mode.
As a different option, you can import rules
already defined in Customizing by choosing
with
the quick info text Create with Template. You can change these rules, if required, in
the detail view of the contract by choosing
with
the quick info text Detail View of Notice Rule.
e. Save your entries.

Example: Standard Notice Procedure - Residential Rental
Example for a contract valid starting on January 1, 1995.
End of contract term is in the time period: |
Period of Notice - Tenant |
Period of Notice - Landlord |
01/01/1995 to 12/31/1999 (first 5 years of term) |
3 months |
3 months |
01/01/2000 to 12/31/2002 (term 5 to 8 years) |
3 months |
6 months |
from 01/01/2003 (term more than 8 years) |
3 months |
9 months |
If you do not enter any dates for the term, then the period of notice is independent of the term of the contract.
Give Notice Individually
